Customer Support

One of the biggest strengths of whatifi is that our calculations are “context aware”. A mortgage calculation in Canada is different from a mortgage calculation in the US (Americans can deduct their mortgage payments against their taxes).

At the same time, many of our Event nodes are location agnostic (like Income, Expense, Loan, etc) and can be used to model generic, location independent calculations. Feel free to use the power of whatifi to model your scenario regardless of where you live. We identify on each Event Node whether it is a global Node or a Node local to a specific country.

Initially, we are building for the US and Canadian market but plan to rapidly expand to cover more and more territories. If you are interested in developing Events nodes for your region, please reach out to us at info@whatifiweb.com – we have a partnership plan in place where we revenue share development for custom node development.

This is a two-part question.

Relatively soon we will accommodate the ability to set the default currency for the entire application based on your location. Dollars. Pounds. Rubles… all of them.

Currency exchange is not yet supported. it is a bigger challenge and is a high priority on our longer-term roadmap.

Security

Yes. While we ultimately envision whatifi as an end-to-end platform, we do support the easy export of any Scenario Thread result as a CSV file.

The security of your data is a very big deal to us. Our platform is built on trust. Our calculations and results are intended to be non-biased. Without trust, our entire business model and approach to planning can’t succeed.

We leverage several 3rd party APIs to build your whatifi calculations. If you are using our bank account integrations than you are utilizing our integration with Finks or Plaid. In either case, we never have access to any of your private banking credentials, passwords, or login information.

Additionally, where possible, we try to minimize the need for any information that can compromise your identity or privacy. Our calculations use address information to calculate location-based results. We support postal or zip codes only, or simply the name of a town or community. The more specific you get, the more accurate our calculations – but we respect that everyone has different tolerances for the use of their personal data.

All data is stored on secure AWS servers. Different countries have different regulations on where their citizen’s personal information can be stored. As we expand, we update our storage policies based on the regulations and compliance of that region.

Technical

whatifi is currently a desktop-only application with the majority of the testing and development done in Chrome.

Our current development roadmap is that scenarios will be built on the larger screen desktop applications and we will support a view/follow-like experience on mobile devices. The goal is for clients and stakeholders to be able to view and interact with an existing scenario on any type of device.

whatifi Basics

Yes, there is. While we are supporting businesses, both big and small, we also want to support families and individuals as they navigate their personal finances. For now, both business and consumers use the same version of whatifi. Depending on your account settings, the consumer version limits access to business-centric nodes and features.

Eventually, whatifi for families will be its’ own standalone product with a focus on mobile.
